★ on the 2nd of December, 2015Went for dinner last Saturday night with my wife. Been there twice before and we were delighted with the food we were served. However last Saturday was an evening to forget. My wife had the lobster mac&cheese (which we have had before). There was very little cheese and roughly 4-5 pieces of rubbery lobster. Small side salad was nice. I had the steak and frites. The waitress asked me how I liked my steak cooked. I replied medium rare. When I received my meal my steak was 1/8 of an inch thick. As you can appreciate it was NOT medium rare but very well done and tough to cut and eat. No flavour. I tried a few pieces and left the rest. The fries were forgettable. My side salad was good. The steak that I was served should not leave the kitchen. This type of meat should not be served to anyone. The merlot was nice and not too pricey.
Good restaurants are consistent in their service and food. The Wellington Diner is not.
Will probably not return or recommend.
